Job Description

We are seeking a Regional Operations Coordinator to support our global, professional and amateur baseball operations.
The Regional Operations Coordinator (ROC) represents TrackMan and manages work in stadiums across the world, including the installations, calibration, and maintenance of TrackMan radar and video systems.
Additional responsibilities include managing TrackMan’s presence at amateur baseball events. This position reports to the Head of Field Operations and works in close collaboration with product management, IT, and engineering.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Plan, coordinate and execute the installation and calibration of TrackMan systems at pro and college stadiums.
  • Plan, coordinate and execute the operational and marketing needs for the TrackMan system at amateur baseball tournaments.
  • Develop project plans and document planning, execution, and post-installation phases.
  • Hire and manage part-time staff (amateur events) and local contracting support (stadium installations) on an as-needed basis.
  • Work closely with and train partners on all aspects of TrackMan’s products.
  • Provide feedback to TrackMan management on performance of products in the field.
  • Manage and track costs against pre-defined budgets on a per project basis.
  • Ensure job-site safety during installations and events in accordance with best safe work.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders on the successes, challenges, and lessons learned from each installation and event.

Desired Skills and Experience:

  • Ability to work independently, and as part of a larger team
  • Comfortable performing light physical labor, performing basic mechanical tasks, and able to throw a baseball
  • Highly detail oriented, with ability to follow instructions when working with complex systems
  • Tech competent and computer literate with ability to troubleshoot technical issues (i.e., setting up local networks, installing and updating software and drivers, reading log files, etc.)
  • Self-starter with ability to set and manage to goals
  • Problem Solver: Analyzes problems and makes sound, timely and cost-conscious decisions
  • Team player with the ability to effectively balance the requirements of cross-functional stakeholders such as facility supervisors, project managers and IT support
  • Likes to travel and able to be on road working independently for long periods of time with little supervision
  • Ability to travel at least 75% of time
  • Hard worker with a can do attitude
  • Strong communication/people skills
  • 4-year degree from accredited college (degree in engineering is a plus)
  • Location of position to be determined during hiring process (FL, GA, AZ, CT regions)
  • Construction and/or electrical installation experience desired

Job Description

We are seeking a Head of Field Operations to oversee our large and growing, global network of radars and video solutions, located in nearly every professional baseball stadium in the US, Japan, and Korea, plus amateur stadiums across the US.
The Head of Field Operations will oversee and manage all of TrackMan Baseball’s physical hardware from initial installation through ongoing support and maintenance.
Primary responsibilities also include management of field Information Technology (IT) and networking solutions, including computers, cameras, and associated software, ensuring video and data is transferred reliably and efficiently.
Additional responsibilities include oversight of all physical inventory and warehouse management.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Managing contractors and technicians to install and maintain radar systems and video solutions across the globe.
  • Developing and implementing processes and procedures to support entire field operations.
  • Oversee external/field IT including both hardware and software.
  • Hiring, developing, and managing field operations staff as needed to support both core (professional) and amateur baseball customers.
  • Oversee supply chain management, logistics and vendor relations.
  • Manage field operations budget with focus on cost control and optimization.
  • Work across all functions of the organization and with global teams and customers.
  • Further developing and managing a network operations center that provides live technical support at all times our technology is in use.
  • Product management of physical mounting components and networking equipment.
  • Supporting and participating in overall product development, ideation and design.
  • Key owner or stakeholder for all company IT related decisions.

Desired Skills and Experience:

  • 10+ years of experience in field operations and information technology, with experience in logistics and supply chain management
  • Information technology (IT) experience with networked equipment, both hardware and software; very technically proficient, but coding skills not necessary
  • Experience building, developing, and managing team
  • Budgeting and basic financial reporting
  • Excellent project management and product management skills
  • Highly detail oriented
  • Experience building, managing and coordinating remote field operations teams
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally; Travel approximately 25% of the time
  • Experience with popular ERP, accounting, and project management software, plus proficiency in Word, PowerPoint, Excel
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Self-starter, comfortable working in a dynamic environment with limited oversight

Description:

Join TrackMan’s team as an Analytics/Operations Intern for TrackMan Baseball, a US based sports technology firm.

You will take on a critical role in a small, fast moving entrepreneurial company that is breaking new ground in sports.

In this position, you will primarily be responsible for reviewing TrackMan data from a significant number of MLB, Minor League baseball, NCAA stadiums and numerous amateur tournaments during the 2016 baseball season.

You will also have the opportunity to perform statistical analysis as directed.

We are hiring on a rolling basis, and the internship wraps up at the conclusion of the Major League baseball season, with the opportunity to stay on for further projects.

Candidates with only summer availability will also be considered for a shorter term internship.

This is a great opportunity for someone who wants to break into the baseball community and get experience with data available exclusively to professional baseball teams.

Full training is provided and you’ll have the opportunity to work closely with members of the TrackMan staff and interface with our partner teams.

Weekend and evening availability is important.


Requirements:

  • Excellent knowledge of baseball
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work well with others

Desired Skills and Experience:

  • Bachelors or Masters degree in Statistics, Mathematics or a related field.
  • Strong knowledge of databases, SQL, and R statistical software.
  • Experience working with large baseball related data-sets.
  • Python or other scripting language experience is a plus.

Compensation:

$12.50 an hour
